Andrew
Pool is Director of the sixth through eighth grade string orchestras
at Central Woodlands and Central Middle School. Under Pool’s
leadership, both middle school orchestras received a straight first
division rating at MSBOA district festival in 2005. Forest Hills
Central orchestras consistently receive high ratings at festival.
Mr. Pool
received his formal music training at the Interlochen Arts Academy.
He is also a graduate of the University of Iowa and Grand Valley
State University. Mr. Pool is an active violist with the Grand
Rapids Symphony, recently performing with the GRSO in Carnegie Hall.
Mr. Pool has performed with the West Shore Symphony, the Greater
Lansing Symphony, the Cedar Rapids (Iowa) Symphony, and the
University of Iowa’s Center for New Music. Mr. Pool’s primary viola
teachers include David Holland and William Preucil, Sr.
Mr. Pool
is in his seventh year on the music faculty at Forest Hills Public
Schools. He enjoys playing chamber music, cooking, good coffee, and
fixing automobiles. |
